Steffi Faircloth (b.1997) is a multimedia artist who received her BFA in photography at Arizona State University in 2019 . She was born in Nogales, Arizona, and her experience in her Bordertown is the central theme in her work. She often finds herself working with the idea of mundane and turning it into humor. By using a variety of still lifes, landscapes, and portraits, she explains certain aspects of youth culture; whether it be with something as niche as Nogales’ own version of Italian ice called a Finito, or a genre of music called Reggaeton which is most popular among younger generations of Latinx communities. She focuses in on popular culture due to how everyday it is; yet how disassociated it is with bordertown communities. Faircloth currently lives and makes work in Phoenix, Arizona.
